Anima is a unique AI-based short-screening solution for early detection of children suffering from sexual abuse. The tool will screen and identify experience of sexual abuse at an early stage, thus prevent further abuse and providing treatment. This in turn will reduce future mental and physical negative consequences of the abuse.
Anima uses sophisticated algorithms technologies based on artificial intelligence (AI), big data and machine learning coupled with psychological and academic research, the solution can track self-figure drawings created by children (above the age of 4) by collecting key parameters. Based on previous evidence indicating four indicators in self-figure drawing of sexually abused survivors compared to non-sexually abused survivors
Anima is an online assessment tool for detecting sexual abuse in children and receiving real-time feedback on the child mental state. It takes two minutes for the next four steps: Simply ask the child to draw himself/herself (self-figure drawing) on an A4 blank paper Scan the drawing using your smartphone or any other device. Upload the drawing to the Anima website Help the child if he or she is too young to fill the short questionnaire independently Receive feedback .
Anima latest results show an accuracy of 83% in identifying children who have been sexually abused and 73% in identifying children who have not been sexually abused.
The study sample consisted of 1,500 children, 750 self-figure drawings of sexually abused vs. 750 self-figure drawings of non-abused.
Our goal is to achieve 95% accuracy. (next trials will include cross-cultural and developmental phases validation).
